The Navagraha are Surya, Chandra, Mangala, Budha, Guru, Shukra, Shani, Rahu and Ketu. In modern astronomy, the Sun is a star, the Moon a satellite, and Rahu and Ketu correspond to the ascending and descending lunar nodes.

Read graha in its context
The Navagraha tradition includes Surya, Chandra, Mangala, Budha, Brihaspati, Shukra, Shani, Rahu and Ketu. The modern astronomical category planet and the ritual or astrological category graha do not describe the same list. The Sun is a star, the Moon a natural satellite, and Rahu–Ketu are associated with orbital nodes. A node is a crossing point between an orbital plane and its reference plane. It is not a solid spherical planet. A religious personification has a different narrative purpose from a physical description.

नवग्रह परंपरा में सूर्य, चन्द्र, मंगल, बुध, बृहस्पति, शुक्र, शनि, राहु और केतु आते हैं। आधुनिक खगोलशास्त्र का planet और ज्योतिष/उपासना का graha समान सूची के शब्द नहीं हैं। सूर्य तारा है, चन्द्र प्राकृतिक उपग्रह और राहु-केतु कक्षा के नोड्स से जुड़े हैं। नोड वह बिंदु है जहाँ चन्द्रमा की कक्षा संबंधित तल को काटती है। इसे किसी ठोस गोल ग्रह की तरह चित्रित करना आधुनिक भौतिक विवरण नहीं होगा। देवता-चित्र धार्मिक व्यक्तिकरण हो सकता है, जो अलग कथात्मक उद्देश्य रखता है।
Evaluate worship and prediction separately
Navagraha worship may be part of a temple’s Agamic and local tradition. Ask the temple about its arrangement and practice instead of treating one internet diagram as a universal rule. Claiming that a birth sign or planetary position establishes a definite outcome for health, wealth or relationships is a separate evidential claim. This release does not provide horoscopes or natal charts. Panchang time calculations should not be presented as validation of horoscope predictions.

किसी मंदिर में नवग्रह का दर्शन स्थानीय आगम और परंपरा का हिस्सा हो सकता है। क्रम, दिशा और विधि जानने के लिए मंदिर के नियम पूछें; इंटरनेट पर मिले एक चित्र को हर मंदिर का नियम न मानें। किसी जन्म-राशि या ग्रह-स्थिति से व्यक्ति के स्वास्थ्य, धन या संबंध का निश्चित परिणाम वैज्ञानिक रूप से स्थापित बताना अलग दावा है, जिसके लिए अलग प्रमाण चाहिए। इस संस्करण में राशिफल या कुंडली नहीं जोड़ी गई है। पंचांग की समय-गणना को भी राशिफल का प्रमाण न मानें।
